California Dreamin' : 2nd Jan 2003

First run of 2003 was Mino and Gavin's "Californie here we come" (sic), held on 2nd January. 19 5's turned up at Newbridge for a 10.30 start on a miserable, cold, rainy day, including at least one which had made the three hour trip from Aberdeen especially to join the run. The run, intended ..........

Tour of Argyll : 7th Sep 2002

"Why go to France? The scenery is wonderful, the people are friendly. Why would anyone go to France?" Not my words, but the words of one of our Dutch visitors half way through the run today. It started quietly enough at McDonald's Newbridge for 6 cars which left at 9 to drive the hour or ..........

Largs Run : 18th Aug 2002

The second best way is to have the hood up and hear the noise of the air that isn't actually in your ..........

Fife Fun Run : 2nd Jul 2002

When I found out this weekend was going to be another Fife run I wasn't sure whether or not I'd go. I mean, Fife is flat, boring and has no straight roads. Isn't it? Hell no!! Mino put a spectacular amount of effort putting together this route and even provided participants with a LAMINATED ..........

Lindisfarne with Tyne Tees : 16th Jun 2002

Ask any top athlete and he will tell you that to be ill in bed on Friday and involved in the Big Match on the Sunday is not ideal preparation. So to a complete non athlete like me, it's sheer folly, but involved I was. At one point, I was congratulated for a diving catch, which was probably ..........

Spittal of Glenshee Run : 19th May 2002

If this had been a Grand Prix, Murray Walker would almost certainly have called it "a race of attrition". Things started badly for me when I flashed my lights at Behnam who had just joined us, crossing the Forth Road Bridge, only for one light to raise perfectly and the other to do an impersonation ..........
