21st Spring Rally
Fri 17th Apr 2015 to Sun 19th Apr 2015
organised by Tayside Scotland

Car Count : Unknown
[ show pre-run info ]

Larry and I travelled down to Northop Hall the day before the Spring Rally at Oulton Park, and met up with Colin in the morning of the day itself. We were very lucky with the weather very sunny with a slight breeze made it a very pleasant day.

The car park itself was a sight to behold with a sea of various coloured and versions of MX5s as far as you could see.

All three of us were keen to see the unveiling of the mark IV MX5 and we were not kept waiting long.

Although only a prototype, the mark IV is an impressive looking car, shorter and wider than the previous versions. It will be available in new 1.5 litre as well as existing 2.0 litre with 7 stunning colours to choose from:

Crystal White Pearlescent
Soul Red Metallic
Jet Black Mica
Meteor Grey Mica
Blue Reflex Mica
Ceramic Metallic
Arctic White (solid)

As well as the mark IV, there were a number of stalls including MX5 Parts, the MX5 Owners Club Shop, wheel refurbishment, tyre fitting and body repairers.

There was also the opportunity to purchase a photo of your car arriving at the event.

A few people also had a go at the Special Stage Handling Challenge where they were able to drive around the concrete and glass composite surface.

We had a great day out and it was lovely to meet some old and new friends.

Special thanks go to Paul Mckay and all the Cheshire and North Wales group for organising such a fantastic event.
