The Cowal Peninsula Run & Cruise

Meet at 10:30 for 11:00 departure
at
Caulders Garden Centre,
Erskine Hospital,

There is a restaurant/coffee shop for those wishing a caffeine top up before the start of the run.

Come along and enjoy a great MX-5 drive round the scenic Cowal Peninsula with a cruise on the Clyde thrown in.

We will start at the Erskine Hospital garden centre before crossing the Erskine Bridge and heading via Gairlochhead, Arrocher and the Rest & Be Thankful to our lunch stop at the Creggans Inn at Strachur, overlooking Loch Fyne.

After lunch we will drive down the coast by Loch Fyne to Otter Ferry before heading to Tighnabruaich and arriving at Hunter’s Quay, Dunoon where we will take the ferry across to Gourock.

From Gourock we will head towards Inverkip before turning east and heading over the hills to Loch Thom, touching the south side of Greenock before reaching our final destination, The River Inn at Houston.
This is a convenient point for all to depart for home north, south, east or west.

The ferry tickets can be bought at Sandbank prior to boarding the ferry and are a lot cheaper than buying on the ferry itself. We will purchase the cheapest option on the day dependent on car and passenger numbers.
These are bought in either -

2 journey tickets      (car - £17.50, passenger - £5.10)    -  Per car £11.30
10 journey tickets    (car - £79.10, passenger - £21.80)  -  Per car £10.05

Single drivers will only pay for car at £8.75 or £7.91 dependent on bulk ticket bought.


Starters
Cullen Skink with granary bread
Chicken liver parfait, port wine plum compot, toasted brioche
Warm goats cheese, squash & spinach tart, beetroot dressing
Argyll salmons hot smoked, smoked & gravadlax, horseradish cream, toasted ciabatta

Main Course
Herb crusted sea bass, crushed potato, seasonal garden vegetables
Chicken in proscuito, crushed potato and seasonal vegetables
Steak and ale pie, creamy mashed potato and seasonal vegetables
Brie leek & mushroom strudel, white wine, garlic & rosemary sauce, seasonal vegetables

Dessert
Strawberry & passion fruit pavlova with chantilly cream
Coconut cream brûlée with pineapple compote & langue de chat biscuit
Warm sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce & caramel ice-cream

2 courses £17.00

If only one course is required then this can be chosen from the standard menu.

Big thanks to  Ali & Drew for a great day out. Quite a bit of laughter at the lunch stop which proves all were having a good time.
