Hi-5s Run - Cruachan Power Station

Sunday 20th July 2014

Two years ago we visited Cruachan along with Central.  This was only the second run which the Hi-5s embarked on.  It was a great day out and we are looking forward to doing it all again.

Cruachan is an underground powerstation built below the Scottish mountains.  An absolutely fascinating trip - a bit out of a Bond movie!!

This time it will be organised by Ali and Mandy.

Run details

9.45am for 10am start Highland Council HQ Glenurquhart Rd stopping for tea/coffee at the Woolen Mill Spean Bridge then on to Cruachan power station for tour which is booked for 2pm.  The tour can take a max of 22 people and if we achieve 22 then it will be a 5 each otherwise 7.50 each.
We will then leave for Glencoe visitor centre via Tyndrum, Rannoch Moor and Glencoe  after spending an hour or so there,we will then head to the Ballachulish Hotel for Dinner  before heading home.
This trip will be a round  trip of 260 miles aprox

What a fantastic weekend once again, If I do ever replace the MX-5 I would be lost without these drives, the routes and attractions are always fantastic and the company couldn't be better. A special mention has to go to Bobby for his support in my thoughts on the new car! Pete (& Kerry)

Once again we ate and drank our way round a fantastic route in good, roof down weather with the obligatory great company. Many thanks to Ali & Mandy for their organisation of this brilliant run!

Now if we can just halt all this talk of Audis!!!
