Christmas Lunch

Saturday 6th December 2014

At The Radstone Hotel
Ayr Road
South Lanarkshire

Well that's the 2014 MX-5 christmas lunch over and what a great day it was. We gathered in the Wallace suite after getting our first refreshments of the day from the bar, and 25 jolly members were served up a lovely lunch. This was followed up with the secret santa and I hope you were all happy with your surprise presents. The moisturiser I got will be well used and you will see a new man when we meet up in the new year!
After lunch, which finished about 5pm, we all retired to the hotel reception which was huge and we proceeded to set up tables and chairs like a wagon train circle settling down for the night. This at least ensured we had an area to ourselves before the 300 odd partygoers arrived at 6:30 for a party night in the main function room next door.
Further drinkiepoos ensued and we had a fine view of the range of fashions worn by the somewhat scantily clad partygoing ladies along with a fair percentage displaying spray on tans (or else they were just back from 4 months in Tenerife). Convivial conversations were the order of the day until around 10pm some of our company started to feel hungry and managed to get the hotel kitchen to rustle up some sandwiches, ciabatta rolls and chips.
We then had a chance to listen to the two tribute acts - Kenny Rogers and Neil Diamond in the function room and after a fair version of Crackling Rosie about 11:30 we all happily drifted off to bed.

It was a great day and the hotel provided a superb venue, food and service. Thanks to all attendees for making it such a lovely event.

Have a lovely Christmas and a “MERRY New Year” hope see you all in January.
