The October Weekend

Saturday 4th to Sunday 5th October 2014

Meet at 09:45 for a 10:00 departure
Asda Robroyston Superstore,
1 Monument Dr,
G33 1AD
Off Junction 2, M80

This event is now closed, the final numbers have now been confirmed with the hotel.

Following on from last yearís successful run where everyone had a great overnighter at the Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa in Inveraray, you asked to return again.

We have been in touch with the Hotel and have arranged a preferential room rate of £59 per person on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast rate (same as last year).  A single supplement unfortunately will cost an additional £15.

Starting from ASDA car park we will head up and over the Campsie Fells onwards to Killin, Thornhill, towards Doune then on to Callandar before doing a circuit back passing Loch Venachar down Dukes Pass on the Trossachs route, to Port of Monteith then Arnprior, Balfron, Killearn for lunch at the Buchanan Arms Hotel, Drymen.

The Best Western Buchanan Arms hotel is offering us soup of the day with a sandwich buffet consisting of a wide choice of fillings and garnished with crisps and salad plus Tea and coffee for £6.95 per head. Unfortunately this needs to be paid in full, one week prior to the run which we will undertake based on those named as attending at that time and settle up with you all on the day.

After lunch we will continue to our overnight destination at the Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa, Inveraray on a mix of roads, to arrive mid afternoon in time to use the hotel facilities of pool, spa or perhaps beauty treatments.

We head initially north before joining the main route to Oban. A quick refuel & stretch and we will be on our way again to Crinan where we will have another quick stop, then onwards along the Crinan canal before stopping for lunch at the Horseshoe Inn at Bridgend

The Horseshoe Inn will offer a soup, sandwiches, tea & coffee lunch for £6.50 per person payable on the day.

After lunch we will commence the return journey back north via Loch Awe to Inveraray for a brief stop, then onwards to Balloch Lomond Shores where we will finish the run.

Superb weekend and loads of gratitude to Marcia & Raymond for all their input into making the weekend so memorable. At the end of the day though it takes a team effort to make things so pleasurable. We had a great drive - a super hot tub & swim - great food - a modicum of drink and gallons of friendship.  Who knows, as newcomers, we might even start to get all the names of the gang right in due course!!!!!
