Janet's Jaunt

Sunday 13th July 2014

It was a beautiful morning contrary to weather reports and the sun shone all day. Fifteen cars set off from Stirling and headed up over Sheriffmuir towards Braco and Comrie. Loch Earn twinkled in the sunshine and everyone agreed the weather and sunshine made it a special day.

The Killin Hotel with its beautiful surroundings was the venue  for our lunch stop. The hotel supplied us with a very nice buffet lunch which was enjoyed by all.
After lunch we held our charity raffle and with much hilarity and kissing collected £95 and another pile of knickers for our nominated charities. A huge thanks to all who contributed prizes and bought tickets.

As we set set off again down the side of Loch Tay towards Kenmore the roads were busy with damned Sunday drivers and cyclists which slowed us down a bit. We were looking forward to our run over the hill. We were not disappointed as the road was super and scenery was superb. We then carried on to Crieff Visitor Centre for a brief comfort stop and some people had ice cream.

The last part of our jaunt was a bit different - more great roads were experienced by two groups for a short time as a navigational error occurred in the lead car but hey ho we all met up a wee bit later. Wattie was quite happy to take the ribbing as he is always the first to dish it out.

Welcome to Gill on her first run we hope she enjoyed it and hope everyone got home safely.

Thanks to all who attended and made this day so enjoyable. The pictures and comments tell a wonderful story - really no need for a report but Drew made me do it.
