The day started with a wee bit dreich weather , the 3 cars setting off from Banchory over some fine back roads , via Potarch & then heading over the Cabrach into Dufftown , Rothes & then a short blast to arrive at Lhanbryde ready for the sooting & booting before the off at 12.00.

the weather had by then turned excellent , just a slight bit windy & sunshine ,  so it was to the first heat then , a warm up lap ( we were told no cross track steering to warm up tyres ) , watch for the green lights & were off !!

After a couple of genteel laps , I was assisted to try my hand at ploughing a straight furrow by a fellow competitor ( never did see who !! ) managed to get back on track & tried to recover my placing - to no avail

Technique for genteel karting was a variety of manouvers ( overtaking on any side acceptable ) & pedal to the metal , braking forbidden !!

Excellent day's karting ensued with both Richard & Maureen ( GRAMPIAN  RULES O.K. ) taking a prize each & Chuck from Hi5's receiving a trophy as well

Retired to the on site eatery for a spot of lunch , which was excellent EXCEPT for the appaling wait from ordering to eating

The winners then received  their Trophies , with Richard & Maureen getting their " Gongs "  ( Fastest Lady & The Boy Racer ) from Doug inside the restaurant.

Returned to base via the same route as going , even better with the tops down ,
altogether an Excellent day out with the Hi5's  & thanks again to Doug for organising a great day's karting -  look out for next year !!
