For Easties that wish to go together, meet at McDonalds at the Newbridge Roundabout (A8/M8) at 09:00 for a 09:15 prompt departure along the M8

Directions to Paraffin Lamp Lugton via Barrhead

From East (of Glasgow)?follow M8 thru Glasgow, after crossing Kingston Bridge take M77 Ayr/Kilmarnock, leave M77 at junction 3 SP A726 Paisley/East Kilbride, at off ramp turn right at traffic lights SP Paisley, under M77, (outer lanes) thru traffic lights, thru next traffic lights (Mac Donalds) past  Sainsbury?s, at 2nd set of lights by Indian Restaurant turn left onto Parkhouse Road, at Dovecotehall roundabout go straight on SP Irvine A736, continue along Barrhead main st at roundabout with traffic lights take inside lane and go straight ahead, pass Tesco on right, continue on A736, just after sign for Dunlop on Left turn right for Paraffin Lamp.


A run with a twist, exploring the countryside and coastline of Ayrshire.
Event will be part treasure hunt, although the treasure hunt part is such that you don't need to leave the car and all the clues could be spotted by a passenger. This run will take you across some fantastic and quiet roads in and around Ayrshire, starting at Lugton and ending at Galston, with lunch at the Malin Court Hotel Turnberry.

Tartlet filled with mushrooms cooked in a Garlic cream sauce
  Prawn Marie Rose topped with slivers of smoked salmon
                    Soup of the day

        Beef and mushroom casserole with chive mash
  Breast of chicken served with haggis on an onion gravy
                  Poached salmon salad

              Dark chocolate and orange mousse
    Homemade apple pie with ice cream and vanilla sauce
            Fresh fruits soaked with lemon syrup

                  Coffee and petit fours

Just a pity the weather was not a little better, but on the whole a good day out, excellent menu and the "treasure hunt" added to the day.

By the time I got back to Largs the rain was really heavy.  It had been like that from 11:00am so we were quite fortunate.

As first timers on a club run we had a great day out, thanks to Phil for all the hard work and thanks to all of you for making us so welcome. It certainly was a bracing day for a run with the top down!

Great meal,was worth the drive for that alone!.....wasn't on the run,but thanx to Phil and Douglas for a great choice.........I hope you 2 weren't testing the water of your next possible house move....seeing as you are getting on in the years :P.
