Hi-5s at Grantown Motor Mania

Sunday 1st September 2013

**** THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL ****

A return visit to Grantown Motor Mania - which was one of our best attended events last year - and FAB were in the USofA!?!?!

PLEASE NOTE - INDIVIDUAL CARS NEED TO REGISTER ON THE GRANTOWN MOTORMANIA WEBSITE  -  http://www.grantown-motormania.co.uk/registration/vehicleregistrations

Hi-5s Route and Times

This is a repeat of last years very successful event.

We have to be in position before 10:30hrs so the plan is to meet at the entrance gates to Grant Castle at 09:30hrs.  The castle entrance is on the A939 literally about 2-300m North of Grantown.  If you go to Google maps you can clearly see the triangular pull in area just to the North of the Ian Charles Hospital.

More details will follow shortly but in the meantime Dave Treen, who is again co-ordinating this event, has block-booked 12 places. (Hope they can squeeze 17 cars, +2?, into 12 spaces Dave)!!

Entry is free but the Committee is trying to raise funds for charity.  They have suggested a 2.50 donation - if we make it 3-5 per car I think that would be a nice gesture from the Hi-5s?!?!  All surplus funds go to local charities.

We will also have our Pub meet the same evening - in the form of a social supper.  Jean has managed to book us back at the Rowan Tree just outside Aviemore, where we've eaten (extremely well) before.  Only problem is that they would prefer if you pay by cash (as there's a big group) and they want to keep credit card fees down! The other option is one person pays - but Wendy isn't going to be there!!

Hi-5s booked so far (14 cars):-
01 - Frankie - eating
02 - Brian - eating
04 - Dave & Val - eating
06 - Jean & Greg - eating
08 - Muriel & Doug - eating

Hi Everyone, Planned to write a `report` but cannot see how to do this ..however.
Again we were lucky this year with the weather...at least the rain held off but it was more than compensated for with the high winds we experienced in the afternoon. There was not quite the 500 cars the organisers had hoped for but nevertheless the number and wide variety of cars there was outstanding, with Greg and me walking along showing our age with` I had one of those` and ` how is that still going`.
I believe we were short changed this year with our position being taken up with Lotus and us being relegated to the far end of the town, but nevermind we had a good day and a lovely meal to cap it all at the Rowantree in the evening.
Glad everyone enjoyed the day, I shall be speaking to Duncan....perhaps we should get a spot next to the `Park and Ride` next year...save the legs!!!

Dave, it's something that's only on the admin side of the page, however, I have posted your report in it. Thank you
