Hi-5s at Grantown Motor Mania

Turnouts for the Hi-5s are steadily getting better with yet another good showing which included cars from both Central and Tayside for what is turning into a brilliant Carfest.

Again we were lucky this year with the weather...at least the rain held off but it was more than compensated for with the high winds we experienced in the afternoon. There was not quite the 500 cars the organisers had hoped for but nevertheless the number and wide variety of cars there was outstanding, with Greg and me walking along showing our age with` I had one of those` and ` how is that still going`.

I believe we were short changed this year with our position being taken up with Lotus and us being relegated to the far end of the town, but never mind we had a good day and a lovely meal to cap it all at the Rowantree in the evening.
Glad everyone enjoyed the day, I shall be speaking to Duncan....perhaps we should get a spot next to the `Park and Ride` next year...save the legs!!!  - Dave

An excellent day out, thank you Dave for organising this trip to MotorMania (I think I've just about got all the knots out of my windswept hair). Lots of fantastic cars! The hats, although very stylish, were a tad expensive for my wee purse :-).  Itís wonderful to see the whole of a town centre shut-off and taken over by some fantastic examples of peopleís pride and joy, gleaming chrome, shining paintwork and a trip down memory lane into the bargain.  Itís little wonder that the crowds throng the streets of Grantown for such a prestigious occasion.  We look forward to taking part again next year .

The day was rounded off with a cracking drive around Lochindorb, up to Carrbridge and on to The Rowan Tree.  A first on this road for Ali and gave him some extra opportunity to see how his car handles.  Thank you Jean for arranging another excellent meal and Dave for organising the event itself Ė Frankie (the other part of FAB).

Hi Everyone, Planned to write a `report` but cannot see how to do this ..however.
