Hi-5s do Microlighting

Sunday 28th July 2013

A circumnavigation of the Black Isle by Road and Air

Hi-5s Route and Times

This is a repeat of last years very successful encounter with the Black Isle Microlights.

The plan is to meet as usual at the DFS Carpark at Millburn Road at 1030hrs.  Directions will be given to Doug in order to get you all safely to Culbokie Airfield for around 1100hrs.  Should anyone not make the rendezvous in time please call myself on 07977 283759 for directions.

According to the current weather forecasts (Wed evening) there should be very little wind but possibly light showers throughout the day.  No wind is good - too much rain is bad!

We're planning a slightly different format this year.  Antonia, who along with Martin, owns the airfield, has kindly offered to provide soup and sannies for everyone plus use of her "facilities"!!  You can sit on the terrace and watch the fun.  The soup and sandwiches will cost a mere 8 per head and this should be paid direct to Antonia.

To cover costs for the pilots a half hour flight is 15. Once everyone has had an initial flight, weather permitting, second flights may well be available.

Muriel will be handing out numbered tickets in exchange for your cash and you should give the ticket to your pilot.

A 30 minute flight will allow you to get as far as Inverness or Invergordon.

Numbers for this event are limited and preference will be given to Hi-5s members should we have to restrict entry.  As it stands currently there are still a few places available.

Despite the weather omens this morning, Brian\'s optimism paid off, the weather cleared! Wide smiles, even wider than a Mk3 grill showed how much the event was appreciated. Many thanks to the three flying machine drivers and to all the Hi5\'ers for a great day out.
