Easter Egg Rolling Competition

For our 2013 Easter weekend we’ll be returning one of the very best areas of Scotland in which to enjoy driving your MX-5, Ullapool, Wester Ross.

This is a wild and beautiful area of Scotland, dominated by imposing mountains and breath taking scenery. When you include some of the very best MX-5 style roads in Europe the area is absolutely worth visiting whatever the weather.

Read all about our previous visits to this area in 2010 and 2011

Ullapool

Our accommodation for two nights will be at The Royal Hotel, Garve Road, Ullapool. IV26 2SY Tel: 01854 612181

The Royal Hotel

Once again we've also managed to negotiate a great deal with the hotel.

  • Dinner Bed and Breakfast in a balcony room overlooking Loch Broom for only £120.00 per couple per night. Note: This is the same price we paid in 2010.

  • A balcony room for single occupancy is £60 DB&B per night.

  • The hotel is holding 20 rooms until the end of December. To avoid disappointment make sure you phone the hotel to book your room asap. Make sure you quote The MX-5 Owners Club to ensure you receive the above rates.

    SUNDAY EASTER EGG ROLLING COMPETITION

    Once again we intend to have an Easter egg rolling competition. Prizes will be given for the best decorated egg and furthest rolled. So remember to bring your decorated hard-boiled egg along and join in the fun.

    Event Organisers: Heather & Chic

    I must also mention Gavin\'s dad :). Walter, thanks for the fun quiz, the constant banter, and just generally keeping everyone entertained in true Bo\'ness fashion. Also, thanks to Jim and Maria the CS Acs for keeping things under control (just a pity the April 1st joke did not go to plan.....you would think it would be easy to steal a car when you have possession of the keys). ;)  I have just been looking at the photos from our camera, and just wishing we could do it all again next weekend :)

    2nd Apr 2013 08:52 :: alan and rosie

    And I do apologise for having the cleanest MX5.  :(  we live just over the hill from the hotel. We were home very quickly, grass cut, washing done and wine opened (and probably consumed ) before any southerners got home. Please, can we do it all again very soon? Missing you all so much already.  :(

    3rd Apr 2013 08:44 :: Ian

    3rd Apr 2013 15:18 :: chic and heather
    After all the concerns over the weather and whether the snow was going to disrupt the weekend it turned out to be the weather that enhanced the weekend with glorious sunshine, blue skies and snowcapped mountains making the views sensational- can't remember when I Iast saw ben nevis top so clearly.
    Thanks as always to Wattie for his "entertainment" and particular thanks to all who attended for their company, for joining in and for keeping to the timescales
    The company and banter is what makes these weekends that bit more special
