Hi Wendy - you're right - Saturday was a loooonnnggg slow day!  Sunday was putting up the decos - so the report is delayed!!

It will probably go out during the Xmas period along with updating the events calendar.

A full report (well maybe not fully full) will follow shortly - complete with photos!!!!!

What a great night - Thanks all for joining us!

Well it's now the 10th January 2013 and we've finally got around to putting pen to paper.  Our final event of the year!

Our last event of the year was our Christmas Dinner and Dance at the Newton Hotel in Nairn.  We had originally booked into the Ramnee in Forres but unfortunately they had to cancel at the last moment due to call-offs from other groups.  We were extremely lucky to get a space at the Newton who looked after us extremely well – possibly because we were talking about moving our monthly meets there in the New Year!!
Frankie and I were booked into the Charlie Chaplin Suite for the night – a real treat – only it was in the old part of the hotel with single glazed sash and case windows and it was Baltic!  The rest of the crew were in the newer part of the hotel and all nice and cosy.

The meal was excellent, washed down with several glasses of house wine, which tasted like wine.  We exchanged our secret Santa gifts and Frankie found herself responsible for “Newton” our new mascot!

The Newton had a live band playing on the night we had booked.  They were absolutely brilliant and kept most of us dancing all night.  Of course the Hi-5s were last to leave the dance floor and we adjourned to the Lounge where we were served with tea and Toast and eventually crawled off to bed somewhere around 3am!
Breakfast time saw a host of bleary eyed Hi-5ers – but it was unanimously agreed that we would go right ahead and book our next Xmas dance – same place, same time!

Many photos were taken but unfortunately most were unfit for human consumption. (Although some of them may yet make it onto the MX5Scotland Events pages).

Well, what can I add to Wendys notes....brilliant night which started about 4.30 for us in the lounge with Wendy and then me about 5 with the Als,Dougie and Muriel and Sheila in the bar! What a night to remember! I am not too sure about my monkey suit though? It made comfort visits challenging as I seemed to be the only person wearing a dickie and when you want information in a hotel, who do you approach first?....yes...the doorman in the dickie!Although it became quite profitable at the end of the night....saying goodnight and arranging taxi`s...the tips were good!
What a spot for our monthly meetings.... How about a mid summer ball...I could get my suit out again! Val is com plaining about the dings in the ceiling but I WILL  get the hang of flying the dammed helicopter if it kills me!
I agree with Wendy...those who missed the bash missed an excellent night out...great venue and trully wonderful company. Roll on next year!!!
