Notes following Pub Meeting - Hi-5s MX5OC – Mon 6th August - Ramnee Hotel, Forres
1. 13 members in 7 cars turned up.  We had arranged the meeting in Forres to try and get some of the newer members to come along.  Two of them had indicated they were coming but had to call off at the last moment.  Hopefully we will see them before too long.  The Ramnee was a good choice for a meeting in the East.  We had a great meal in our own private room followed by the usual informative meeting.  The round tables made it a bit interesting to talk to everyone. Apologies were given for Phil Marley and Alan Wilson our newer and local members, also from Shane, Ken and Andy.
2. The Als have said that they will look at the use of PMR radio.  This is used by several other areas as far as we know.  It is useful where there are several cars in convoy for ensuring we don’t lose someone. Brian and Frankie use them for flying and would dig out some info on what they had.
3. Macrae & Dick – Frankie will speak to Dugie about them paying a first years membership for anyone who buys a “5” on the basis that we are promoting the car at all the motoring events and just by being here!!
4. It was felt that we should print out and laminate some of our SoftTop HardTop articles to take to future shows.  We also have a spare copy of the magazine itself.
5. We handed out copies of the contacts list as agreed to date and agreed to send out an email to everyone asking them to confirm that they were in agreement or otherwise. (This has since been overtaken by events! One of our members who is involved in Internet security pointed out that we should not be cc-ing people.  An email has now gone to all concerned).
6. Reports for the Black Isle Fly-Drive and the Gathering are now on the website – we still need to find some more photos of both events.
7. A fairly lengthy discussion took place with regard to the forthcoming AGM.  An issue concerning “anti-social members” may come up which may be voted on.  More details can be had by contacting Brian direct.  It was felt by the meeting that everyone who was happy to give us their vote should send the proxy form back to chris.jessop@mx5oc.co.uk . A copy of the form was sent out with the last STHT magazine and a copy is attached to this email.
8. Hi-5s 2012 Calendar for the remainder of the year was discussed.  The calendar has been updated as have the www.mx5scotland.co.uk events pages.  Please note your interest on these pages as usual.
a. Dave Treen would be looking after the Grantown MotorMania day whilst Brian and Frankie were in the USofA.  Everyone interested in attending should contact him direct by email.
b. A Tech Day / BBQ would be held at FABs on the 29/30th September
c. The 21st Oct meet (now 28th) would be a joint run along the North East Coast in conjunction with Grampian Area.
d. The 18th November run would be to Thurso – Bill Bennett has possible route details for us.
e. Our planning meeting will take place on the 3rd December (rehearsal on 5th November)
f. Our Christmas Bash will take place at the Ramnee Hotel in Forres on 14th December.  This is being organised by The Als.  Deposits of £10 are needed NOW.  The party will cost £? and a double room only £60.00.
g. The Spring Rally is to take place in Pitlochry on 18/19 May 2013.  Ally, (our social organiser!), has arranged hotel accommodation at very good prices.  Please contact her for more details.
