Janet's Jaunt

Sunday 27th May 2012

A beautiful sunny Sunday morning and 16 cars with roofs down left Stirling services heading for the hillfoots.

Stirling Start Point

After a wee hiccup when 6 cars decided to head for St Andrews Fordy the shepherd headed of in pursuit. When we were all together again it was up over Sherriffmuir via Logie Church. The run continued to Braco and on to Comrie and a pit stop at Lochearnhead. After a quick stop we were off again heading through Glen Ogle to Killin. Got some MX5 type waves on the route along Loch Tay to our lunch venue at The Kenmore Hotel. We received a warm welcome from the staff and were soon seated in our private room. A good meal was had by all and this was followed by our raffle. The hotel had generously given us two nights bed and breakfast as a prize. We collected £121 for this years charity which is the Ronald Macdonald House at Yorkhill. A huge thanks to all who donated prizes and bought tickets.

Fantastic MX5 Roads

After lunch we set off over the hills through Glen Quaich to the Sma glen and the scenery was stunning. Keeping to MX5 type roads we headed for Dunning and then Yetts o` Muckhart. Our final leg took us across Clackmannanshire Bridge to a finish at Kincardine services. A good time was had by all and it was nice to welcome new members Mary and Jim, Helen and Tam, Linda and Willie and Alex. We hope they enjoyed their first run and will join us again in the future.

Nice to see you guys going through Killin, was going to come in past the Kenmore when I came back down from Glenlyon, but with the cycle race on there was no parking around.
Also just in hopes he looks in here,, thank you to the gentleman who passed me when I was eating my sandwich, he very kindly reversed back to see that I was ok and had,nt broken down, could only be a friendly MX5 driver.
