Well, five cars and seven folk (Malcolm/Marty, Andy/Mgt, Helen, Stuart and young Andy) gathered at Tesco Westhill for a wee meander of some 60 miles to the Woodend Barn, Banchory for lunch.
With some trepidation, we set off not knowing how waterlogged the country roads famously used on Liathach's runs might be but, in the end, they weren't too bad.
Our route took us via Easter Ord to Garlogie, Dunecht, Lyne of Skene (twice) before making for Craigearn, Monymusk and Ordhead, passing some rather nice houses en route. Then on to Birselawsie before a run down and back up the Beltie Burn near Torphins, to Lumphanan, with it's Peel, and on to Kincardine o'Neil, the oldest village on Deeside, before passing Bridge of Canny and Brathens Moss en route to the Woodend Barn, arriving just 15 minutes before our scheduled time. After food, some of us had a look around an exhibition of crafts and some purchases were made!
Sadly, the weather forecast, which had been reasonable until about four days before the run, deteriorated and never improved so the roofs remained in the raised position all morning.
Thanks to everyone for their company and for braving the elements.

Hopefully 2013 will be better! We really missed out on Chip runs in 2012!
