GRA - Easter Run
Sun 24th Apr 2011
organised by Grampian Scotland

Car Count : 12

[ show event report ]

The run this month is a jolly round the north east jaunt, nipping into Moray for a bite of lunch at the Boogie Woogie Cafe and Gift shop. The cafe has a new menu which I hope I can put details of here later.

Lunch will be at around 1pm and taking names for this run now. Given the run is on Easter Sunday and as such a busy day for eating places, the very nice lady at Boogie Woogie has asked for numbers and expected time of arrival.

Can you note your intention to attend this run, here on the forum, and by next Friday (15th). Nae sneaking in on the day :-)

Route for you to print off, read, digest and laminate (well maybe not laminate)

Excellent run out today, delighted to meet Gogsy and Mo who joined us for their first run out with Grampian and didn't seem to repelled :>)

We also had two new MK3's in the area, Helen with a very tidy Z Sport sourced all the way from Watford. Andy has also acquired a MK3 Sport that has been treated to some nice accessories by its previous owner. Nice cars both!

Our run took us over the much disputed (sic) Cabrach to Dufftown then on to Keith for an excellent lunch at the Boogie Woogie cafe. Our reserved table 'Car Club 1:00pm' was a welcome break in the journey. The busyness of an Easter Sunday meant that the kitchen had to feed us in relays but any wait was worthwhile.

After lunch we nipped up to Banff for pictures by the beach before returning to Inverurie via Foggie and Rothienorman, one of our favourite roads.

Great to see everyone who joined us today either from the start or meeting us on the way, hope to see you all again soon.

Totally agree, a great day out in good company.  Gogsy & Mo seemed to enjoy their experience!  And Helen seemed to enjoy giving her new acquisition a good blast - in contrast to the granny-driving it had apparently seen so far!

A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by myself and the misses on our first Gra run.

We very much enjoyed the route especialy Rhynie to Dufftown, the pace felt a little hard at first but I'm stil geting used to the car and will be much more settled on our next run.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, I think we chatted with most of you and if not I'll see you next time.

Anyway I'm about to go and join the club, partly because I promised my Euphonic an owners club badge and partly because Ian and Lorraine promised me a fiver each for keeping the membership numbers high.

"because Ian and Lorraine promised me a fiver each for keeping the membership numbers high"

Pleased to see our political ideals are paying off...:>)

Haha, bribery and corruption get you everywhere!

Enjoyed the day and the chance to spim up the Mk3 for it's first official outing. Good food and the usual good company were the order of the day. Catch you all at the next one.
