Usual suspects met at the Duthie Park for a blast down the main road to Stonehaven, out meeting point with the Tayside mob! We met George and his wife for the first time (hello) and news'd away until the troops from Tayside arrive. After a short interlude, off we headed. Owing to the fact we were such a big group and not everyone was familiar with the route, the inevitable happened and we split shortly after leaving Stonehaven. Luckily Tom know a way to go so off he led the mass to Glen Clova. My satnav got confused when we went to Fettercairn and courtesy of my newly installed Doric voice told me to "ging back ye feel gipe or furl er roon richt" at every opportunity. That aside, we jollied on, overcame the dilemma of a closed road and eventually arrived at a sun kissed Glen Clova Hotel at 1.20pm. The road is on the south side was wonderful, a proper hurdy gurdy kind of road, with no flat bits or straight bits. Bliss.

The food was excellent and we had a room all to our selves. After a good feed, off to the car park for the obligatory photo shoot. What a rare sight indeed.

Later than expected we headed off in our own wee convoys to Grampian and Tayside areas. The run home was just as grand as the run there. We stayed dry virtually all the way but when we landed back in Banchory, a heavy shower of rain brought the day to an abrupt end. Not all bad though, we managed to "pick up" another MX5 owner who is keen to get involved with club activities.

A near perfect ending to a brilliant day out.

Many thanks for organising a great day out. My deaf father was very surprised
how quiet all the cars were
and he even gave me 5 to pay for the petrol.

Thanks again
