The Glen Clova Run

Sunday 9th October 2011

Meet at 9:30 for a 10:00 departure

(Approx. 10:45 to 11:00 at Glendoick for Tayside members)

Meeting point

Kinross Motorway Services
M90 Junction 6

For our last full day run of the year we値l all meet up at Kinross before heading to our lunch venue at The Glen Clova Hotel. On the way well travel on some great MX-5 roads, through Glenfarg to Kintillo then onto the M90 / A90 to Glendoick Garden Centre where we値l be joined by our Tayside friends. We値l then wind our way along some great back roads through Kilspidie, Kinnaird, Abernyte and Leys all the way to Glamis. From there it痴 through Kirriemuir and up into Glen Clova.  Hopefully it値l be a warm sunny day and we will be able to enjoy the autumn colours in all it's glory as we drive up the glen.

The Glen Clova Hotel is at the very top of the glen and has a fine reputation locally for its food and hospitality, after our morning run I知 sure we値l all be ready for it.

The Glen Clova Hotel

Following lunch and all suitably fed and watered we head back to Kirriemuir and take the B951 past the Loch of Lintrathen to Dykend. We then head turn south through Bridge of Craigisla to the outskirts of Alyth. Back onto the main roads we take the A926 to Blairgowrie then the A923 to Dunkeld passing Loch Lowes on the way (look out for the ospreys). As we enter Dunkeld we値l have a short toilet stop before winding our way through Caputh, Bankfoot, Pitcairngreen and Almondbank to the end of the run at The Glover Arms, Perth.

Run organiser: Ian Ness.

Due to the smaller than normal numbers wishing to attend this event we no longer have a pre-arranged set menu. Lunch will still be at the Glen Clova Hotel but will be ordered and paid for individually at the venue.
