Fife Fun Run
Tue 2nd Jul 2002
organised by Central Scotland

Car Count : 15

When I found out this weekend was going to be another Fife run I wasn't sure whether or not I'd go.  I mean, Fife is flat, boring and has no straight roads.  Isn't it?  Hell no!!

Mino put a spectacular amount of effort putting together this route and even provided participants with a LAMINATED copy of the route ..... something I think we should all keep and treasure and take to our graves.  A pure work of art ;-)

I'd like to think I know Fife fairly well given the fact that I live not a million miles away, but Mino proved me wrong (yet again) and showed us some excellent roads that were only spoiled by the sheer volume of Sunday drivers.  It felt that there was a conspiracy against us and round every corner, and at every junction another road hog would creep in front of us.  It didn't matter too much as the sun was blazing and we all had the roofs down.  That makes up for anything!!

Lunch at the Crows Nest in Ansruther was excellent and the staff were quick, courteous, and even attractive.  It's always nice to be served your meal by a young lady that doesn't look like the back end of a bus.  We see enough of them on the road and I for one don't want that kind of encounter just before I eat .......... (moving swiftly on) .......

The run after lunch was fairly brisk and we didn't have to stop too often.  However, we did manage to lose Allan and we never did manage to make contact!  Allan, if you're out there .... we're sorry.  Please let us know you're safe by clicking this link ->I'm alive and well.

It was good to be able to put faces to names to people I've only known via the web, and to drive with such an ammicable group of people!  Roll on Largs!
