The Gathering is now entering its fourth year and has firmly established itself as one of the premier events in the MX-5 Scotland event calendar.
Since the first Gathering way back in 2007 it has been held at The Spittal of Glenshee Hotel, where we all gathered, renewed old friendships and enjoyed lunch accompanied by the friendly social banter that is always found at MX-5 Scotland events. Over the years a total of 155 cars have attended, representing the North Scotland - North (NSN), North Scotland - East (NSE), North Scotland - South (NSS) and the Central Scotland club (CS) areas.
At the request of our members, radical changes are being made to this popular event, so this year IT'S ALL NEW!!!!
New time of year - We've changed the Month from September to July to take full advantage of what will hopefully be a hot sunny summers day.
New venue - To be held at The Scottish Vintage Bus Museum at Lathalmond by Dunfermline. Being held in the Kingdom of Fife, the location makes easy it for people to attend from all parts of Scotland, North, South, East and West.
New activities - We'll have a large display area incorporating our new club event shelters. This is where we will hold the various club exhibits, runs, competitions, charity raffle, prize giving ceremony etc. which will be held during the day to keep everyone entertained. The venue should also provide an ideal platform for members and prospective new members from all areas to integrate and discuss the pros and cons of our favourite club and car.
Want More - After all that if the MX-5 exhibits aren't enough, you will also have access to the museum which includes: Live Working Buses, Extensive Workshops, Exhibition Hall, Railway Locomotive Shed, Cafe etc.
And Finally - This will be the largest gathering of MX-5 to be found in Scotland in 2010 so make sure you don't miss out, put the date in your diary now. Our aim is for everyone to have a fun "zoom zoom" day out.
The Exhibition Hall and 1951 Leyland Tiger PS1/1 Bus
Step back in time and enjoy a short bus run.
Why not make a weekend of it? On Saturday 24th July NSS area are attending the Arbroath Seafront Spectacular and will be proudly flying the MX-5 club colours. With only 60 miles separating the venues, attending both events should be easy, enabling all you petrol heads to have a fantastic weekend. See the NSS event details for more information.
A raffle will be held with the proceeds being split between.

Malc and Alice both won a prize, to which I donated to Charity.. mine! Just joking. I'm looking forward to next years Gathering hosted by NSE. I hope there is some truth in the rumour that next years treasure hunt will be to all the whiskey distilleries on Speyside. :-)
