This is a 75 mile morning only run ending up at Eyemouth Golf Club for lunch. The new 18 hole golf course and Club House have spectacular sea views, this should provide excellent photo opportunities for the cars. We will be using the standard lunch menu which has a very good reputation in the area.

As this club event ends after lunch, you are then free to travel home or explore Eyemouth at your leisure.

Eyemouth Attractions

The wide bay is flanked by high cliffs and the sea washes the long sandy beach every day. The water quality is tested regularly. Despite being sheltered by the Hurkur Rocks, storms can generate awesome waves and throw high plumes of spume into the air over the sea wall, named "The Bantry" said to be in affectionate memory of the Irish labourers, from the fishing town of that name in County Cork, who constructed it.
Eyemouth houses the 'World of Boats", a remarkable collection of almost 400 boats and 300 models from across the world and from many periods. Most prominent is the 1834 Steam powered puddled iron Drag Dredger, 'Bertha', by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, which is undergoing restoration at the head of the Old Harbour. It is intended that the harbour side should be the home for many of the boats in the collection.

What great weather that was, great roads and a fabulous lunch venue. Good to see old friends again and also to Colin and Sandra who have returned to CS from Aberdeen. Thanks to Ian and Jacqueline for the run down to our second weekend pub run and to Andy and Chas for the run back. Evy you were right about the fallout from above when parking down at the harbour. Just spent the morning washing it off. We'll have to do these roads again later in the year.

Superb weekend, the run was fantastic on almost empty roads, the weather was great, lunch was terrific, company as always first class. We made it back in time for dinner. Just got back to Golspie a few minutes ago. 610 miles round trip. Roll on the next run.
