Kames Sprint
Sun 5th Oct 2008
organised by Central Scotland

Car Count : 7
[ show pre-run info ]

Firstly and most importantly...congratulations Kevin Hamilton, winner of the TJ Services Northern Speed Championship 2008.
A bitterly cold start to the day for the cars that met up at Strathaven, the promise of a fine day ahead was confirmed by looking round the clear blue sky, amazingly you could see over a dozen vapour trails from the planes that were criss-crossing the UK on their way to destinations around the World.
We got to Kames in good time as the practice runs were still taking place, pitched up at our usual spot with the Club Banner in full view and cars on either side, or as one of the Marshalls jokingly said to Kev, "I see you've brought your own private scrapyard with you".
The warm sunshine meant that conditions were perfect but try as he might Kev just could not get below that 103.23 figure, last run out and whether it was the increase in tyre pressure or the good luck wishes from son James, we'll never know, but with 102.82 on the Timing Board everyone was happy. With enough points in the bag to see off the nearest competitor, the job was done.
Well done Kev, first year in the Sport and winner of the Class.
Big thanks to all the members who have supported Kevin and the Club at these Events throughout the year.

Yes - another great day at Kames. Nice runs there and back and Kev bagged the class championship to boot. I think the rest of the paddock was a bit jealous that we were able to dismantle Douoglas's car to add bits to Kev's
