Easter Weekend Run
Fri 18th Apr 2003 to Sun 20th Apr 2003
organised by Central Scotland

Car Count : 6
[ show pre-run info ]

Forgetting, dislocations and flats. Just another MX-5 trip.

Six cars headed west. Or 5 did while we went home for the 15 Easter eggs we?d forgotten. We were all an hour late getting to Galston. Douglas and Linda weren?t there because Linda had dislocated her shoulder and an MX-5 is no place to be then.

We arrived at the hotel at about 4pm. After dinner, Sandy produced his guitar and serenaded the assembled guests.

John & Sue joined us in their Mk2 California before we hit the roads on Saturday and headed to Twynholm. We visited the David Coulthard Museum, which is way too small and needs to be better laid out. We had an excellent lunch at St John?s Town of Dalry where Brian & Moira caught us up. Iain & Lu called to report wheel problems, but Mino?s steel wheels got them to us that evening.

Easter Sunday?s best hat winner was Linda as the white rabbit, while Graeme & Christine?s car narrowly won as the Easter Bunny. We headed north in a convoy. Mino rang to tell us that he had a flat tyre. It was fixed too late for them to join us for lunch and he told us they would do their own thing. Late for lunch we raced north on a wonderful road. Making us feel nauseous with the up and down of the terrain, it switched to side to side to add dizziness to the mix. After lunch, we went our separate ways, having thoroughly enjoyed 3 days hood down and in very good company.
