What a weekend.Cannot thank Mary & Shaun enough for their most kind hospitality.
Perfect Sunday weather, David's soapbox performance,Club turnout..it goes on.
Prefer to let others report on MX5 Scotland's Olympic Gold Medals count!
Personal highlight was baby sitting "our" gorgeous wee Hannah!

24th Aug 2008 21:36 :: David, Heather & Hannah
That was great! We thought it was all over on Saturday when the wheels of Graeme's spectacular MX-4 collapsed, but an amazing overnight effort by Shaun and his team of mechanics got us back on the grid and on top of the podium. Excellent work by the pit crew and support from the crowd.  The rest of the show was pretty good too!  Roll on 2009..

That was a good weekend, thanks to Douglas for all his hard work behind the scenes putting this together.
Great work by all involved in the soap box effort, couldn't believe it when I saw 4 wheels on the wagon on Sunday morning :-)

What a weekend thanks to Douglas and the team for pulling us all together for the show.
Many many thanks from me to the Shaun, Tom and Robin for saving the day and rebuilding the rear wheels. Great driving David and Hannah and helped by the marvellous power pushing from Frank. Whilst it is brilliant to have won, the best bit for me was the overall reaction that the cart created amongst the crowds.Bring on 2009!!!

What a great weekend. Congratulations to David, Graham and all the victorious soap box team.
Many thanks to Douglas not only for organising this club event but for all the work put in to Autoclassica over the past months. The awards say it all.
MX5 Scotland has arrived.

I have a few photos and movie clips of the weekend so I’ll bring them to the next pub meeting with the laptop and we can have a giggle….

There will also be professional photos on xpressphoto.co.uk but they are not loaded up yet – they are doing  a few special offers so speak to David Inglis and myself as I think we are going to get a CD between us and we could include more photos to keep it as cheap as possible.

Looking forward to next year already!

Fantastic day - although I am ever so slightly sunburnt now!  Great weather and, after we got over the slight organisational hitch (Autoclassica folks, not the club) a great day with fantastic folks around.  Looking forward to next year already!

Hi, thanks lads for bringing the cart along and competing. All the drivers and carts stayed together and held up. The crowds loved it, and all that is left to say is "we wus robbed" and see you next time. Paul Janson(SKCC)

don't know how that multiple entry happened. I will keep you in mind if we manage to get a road/hill for another event.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for a fun event and it was good that we all managed to finish.Thanks for the loan of the 2 shifters. Looking forward to next time, I hope that we can use a longer and steeper track in 2009 which would allow more folks to see the soapboxes at full speed. All the best Graham

27th Aug 2008 13:03 :: David I
Not too much steeper, please! A bit smoother would be nice...

27th Aug 2008 14:40 :: Graham
David, Independent front and rear suspension with reclining seat planned for next year, so fear not Culzean Champion your MX4 will once again lead the way no matter how steep the hill.
Graham

27th Aug 2008 21:32 :: David I
Multi link or double wishbone?  Can't wait!

27th Aug 2008 22:09 :: Robin
Cannot take credit for being actually involved with putting the MX4 on the podium. I stood and watched! But, it was exciting to witness the progress and drink Mary's endless coffee!
David,the more compliance in next year's chassis, the slower you will be.You will be supplied with a gumshield and a rubber ring for afters!

28th Aug 2008 14:48 :: Lorraine Grant
Sounds like we missed a terrific weekend. Note to self- do not double book next year!
As Rob and Margaret said - MX5 Scotland has indeed arrived. Well done everyone who took part in making it so.
