Christmas Lunch at the Riverhouse restaurant, Stirling. J10 M9 just outside Stirling, Castle Business Park, Craigforth,
Our third successive year to this Central to all excellent venue.
3 course Lunch £14.95 per head. A deposit of £5 per person needed by 19th November.(Tech Day) Send cheques made payable to 'mx-5 Central scotland' to Douglas. Email me for the address. Table(s) booked 12.30 for 1.00. REMEMBER IT'S A SATURDAY!!!!
This year we are inviting members that would like to extend the party atmosphere to stay overnight at the Premier Inn, which is a little up the road from the Restaurant, cost is £50.00 per room. Food and refreshments will be available in the adjoining Pirnhall Inn. An Impromptu Run, (open to all) will take place on the Sunday from the Pirnhall Inn Car Park 10:30
Freshly made soup of the day.
Chicken liver & port pate with Cumberland sauce,
Scottish oatcakes and a petit salad.
Chilled tower of honeydew melon & red apple with a mixed
berry & vanilla compote and lemon sorbet.
Smoked salmon, cream cheese & chive roulade with melba
toast and a lemon & English mustard dressing.
Beef tomato, mozzarella and char grilled chicken salad
with dressed leaves and tarragon pesto.
Hot smoked salmon & tiger prawn salad with picked leaves,
pink grapefruit, cucumber and a thousand island dressing.
Traditional roast turkey with chipolatas wrapped in bacon,
chestnut and hazelnut stuffing and a roast gravy.
Grilled trout fillet with smoked salmon and
a lemon & dill dressing.
Baked oyster & shitake mushrooms, egg, cashew nut and herb tartlet served with a pimento & cherry tomato cream.
Roast breast of chicken with red onion, plum tomato
& basil ragout and thyme jus.
Steamed fillet of sole filled with salmon & lemon mousse
and topped with a mixed grape, white wine
& green peppercorn cream.
Beef & root vegetable casserole with rosemary,
thyme and red wine.
Flame grilled rump steak with a button mushroom, Spanish
onion, French mustard, brandy, Worchester sauce
& red wine cream.
Vegetable moussaka toped with white cheddar and parmesan
and served with a small salad.
All served with vegetables and potatoes.
Sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce.
Creme brulee with fruits of the forest compote.
Tradditional Christmas pudding with brandy custard
& rum butter.
Chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream.
Cheesecake of the day with fruit coulis.
Secret Santa..If you wish to take part in this years secret Santa could you please bring a gift to value of £5.00-£7.00, like last year Santa will have two sacks, one for Girls and one for Boys. (if you come as a couple bring one for each gender, or if you are single male/female bring male/female gift)
Xmas Raffle as usual.
If heading from the north, take the A9, via Perth and then the M9. When heading from the east and St Andrews, take the A94 whilst those heading from Edinburgh should take the A8, followed by the M9. For those coming from the south, take the M74, then the A80 and M80 before finally taking the M9. When coming from Glasgow and the west, take the M8, the A80 and then the M9.
To reach The River House from the M9, go to Junction 10 and exit, following the signs for ring road and Business Park. The River House is on the first left as you enter Castle Business Park.

Thanks to Douglas for booking this again. Food was fantastic. Good to see everyone there and thanks to those who contributed to the raffle. Managed to get home topless despite some road spray.

What better way to start the Christmas season than with such excellent company, fun and laughter.
The food was wonderful as usual and it was great to be able to continue the celebrations with relaxed drinks at night. Thanks to Douglas and Gavin for all the work involved.
