Great day out and couldn'nt stop laughing when we passed by a field of ripe tumshies near Anstruther. What a turnout by the Swedes with some nicely prepared cars and are such nice people, and the sun shone all day long, also we have to thank the staff at Glamis Castle, they were a credit to Scotland in their special treatment of nearly 30 cars arriving unannounced.  Also gotta say well done to Douglas in organising the day.

Got home 11.30 last night, after what could only be described as an interesting and hectic, but very enjoyable weekend. A great big thanks to Jon, Alex and John & Heather for their help on Saturday, to Rob & Margaret, Colin & Claire and  Stevie who stuck with us over the weekend through some frustrating and trying times...i can't thank you enough, because without your dedication & contribution the weekend would not have been the success it was.
Thanks also to Paul & Elaine for their part in the most enjoyable tour of the North coastline. Nice to meet Findlay & Sarah who were with us part of the way.

An unforgetable weekend in great company. It was good to meet Paul, Elaine, Findlay and Sarah from the north for the first time.
I don't think we have ever seen so much of Scotland in two days. We hope our new Swedish friends enjoy the rest of their holiday and that we get the chance to meet them again sometime.
Special thanks to Douglas for all the organisation both on Thursday night and at the weekend.

Has taken 2 days to recover from our escapades oop norff and i still have'nt got the smile off my face. We will be able to dine out for YEARS on the stories we are able to recite about the warrior vikings who invaded our lands and then hammered round them at the thunderous speeds of 27mph !!!. Scotland will never be the same again.
Dundee was a broken city after the "anthill mob" had passed through in a "catch the pigeon" style, which made the vauxhall corsa advert look "run of the mill".
I came / I seen / and now I can wear the tie pin thanks to Roland's gift (not the guy from fine young cannibals).
Thanks Douglas for organising AND still managing to appear to have some sanity left - don't know how you done it !? Thanks as well too Rob, Margaret and Stevie who added their own laughs to the proceedings - can't wait to do it all again !!!
Glad to see Rob&Margaret got home safe...last seen heading for the sunset...in the wrong direction from home ?
Good to meet
Paul&Elaine and Findlay&Sarah....i'm sure our paths will cross again on some future run.....until next time...nanoo, nanoo.
PS. the Baron says ..."Bring on Oban!!!"

Yep Colin that's our usual form, 500 miles all over Scotland and then we take a wrong turn 5 miles from home.Any excuse for a detour. We eventually got home tired but very happy.

Wondered about that Rob, thought you'd changed your mind about petrol refill, couldn't see who was behind me until Stevie radioed back. Here's another one...560 miles all weekend with the hood down, less than half a mile from home at traffic lights had to put the hood up, torrential rain and maps were getting soaked...what a bummer.

Always wanted to lead a run through my village and this was a fine opportunity, it was great to see all the cars in my mirror.  A number of people have mentioned to me over the last few days they saw the group and asked if I saw it too.  Took great pleasure in letting them know I was the lead.  Thanks for the privilege guys.

Dear Scottish friends,
Thanks for having and showing us your wonderful
country.
Your roads must have been created for our
MX-5s....
and we've all got un unforgetable memory.
Hope to see you sometime here in Sweden.

27th Aug 2006 21:27 :: Roland Olsson

Sending a big THANKS to all of you who made our visit in your beautiful country to an unforgettable memory.
And a special thanks to organiser Douglas who succeeded to get the entire group of 20 cars together, witch I can tell is not easy.

We all enjoined your roads, your fantastic nature, the friendly people (except the staff in Royal Highland Hotel in Inverness), your food Ė I even liked your Haggis!

If some of you ever will visit Sweden, donít hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to make your stay here as pleasant as possible.

Best regards
Roland and Eva-Marie
