Day 1
Fri Morning 3rd of May
6 cars assembled at Torvean Quarry A82 ready for the west
The weather was not promising so roofs were left up till our first stop at Ft Augustus where tops were taken down and stayed down for the rest off the weekend!
Off we traveled down to the Bridge Cafe in Spean Bridge for Breakfast and to meet up with the Skye crew
Unfortunately Lisa and Martin were unable to go as the MK4 point blank refused to start!
However Eric and Rachel arrived in there trusty MK3
We then set off down the  Great Glen to Ft William onward through Glen Coe (all with our roofs down off course) to our next comfort stop at Glen Coe Mountain. Then we were off again over Rannoch Moor to Tyndrum turning off the A82 onto the A85 to Dalmally  a really good Mx5 road with its sweeping corners left into right into left
We then turned off onto the A819 along the shores of Loch Awe arriving at Inveraray !
Rachel and Eric went on a tour off "Inveraray Jail"while the rest of us had a wander round and a wee cup off tea!
Our final stint took us on to the A83 to our Hotel at Arrochar with a stop for photos at the top of the "Rest and be Thankfull"

Day 2

Rothesay and the Isle off Bute

Saturday morning we woke to Blue sky's with not a cloud in the sky!
After Breakfast we headed back along the A83 up the "Rest and be Thankfull" turning of the A83 onto the A815 to "Stachur" turning on to the A886 for Colintriave where we boarded the Ferry for the "Isle of Bute"
Arriving in Rothesay in the sunshine we gave everyone a map with the various attractions of Rothesay before myself and Mandy headed off to visit my Aunt and Cousins meeting back with everyone at 12.30
We then headed  to the Kingarth hotel for lunch
After lunch back in the cars we continued the tour off the Island stopping at a view point for photos etc we could clearly see the " Isle of Arran" and the "Sleeping Warrior" Robin and Nina are going to  look and see if they can organise a future trip to Arran.
Heading off again we completed our tour before head back to Rhubodach onto the ferry and back onto the A886 turning off onto the A8003 to Tighnabruaich stopping briefly for a photo opportunity on the way where we were looking down on the "Kyle's of Bute and the ferry we had just crossed
Arriving in Tighnabruaich there was the customary getting lost moment before finding the B8000 taking us back along the shores of "Loch Fyne" certainly not in the caliber of Glen Loth or hardknock pass but not to clever either!
Was glad we were in the MK3  felt sorry for Nina and Robin in the MK1 !
We then headed back to the hotel arriving after 5pm
Dinner was booked at the "Village Inn" for 6pm
Meeting up we walked along the shores of "Loch Long" in the evening sunshine to Lunch at the Village Inn where a good meal was had by all!

Day 3
After checking out
We headed to Tarbet on the Shores of " Loch Lomond" for our cruise interestingly along the same route the Vikings carried there long boats into Loch Lomond after sailing up Loch long to Arrochar!
Boarding the boat we noticed quite a few Oriental persons
A few of the women were dressed in what I can only describe as very eccentric clothing and took a great fancy to our Rachel cuddling her and taking multiple selfies with her!!
Our cruise billed as the "Rob Roy cruise"was 90 mins and took us up passed "Inversnaid hotel "on the east shore to the cave Rob Roy and his crew hid in!
Tourist walked into the cave as we passed
You Could not see them from the water after they entered and you certainly would not see them from above so would have been an excellent hiding place!
We also seen a couple of "Sea eagles" a rare sight
Although a nice day the wind chill on boat was biting and we were glad to get back to the cars!
Off we headed up the twists and turns of Loch Lomond to Tyndrum and the" Green Welly "for a lunch stop,Rachel and Eric said there good byes and headed home at this point
The rest of us roofs down as they had been the whole weekend headed back up the A82 stopping at Invermorrison to say our goodbyes
Thanks to everyone on the trip, its you guys who make any trip what it is!

And thanks also to Vicki MacKinnon for giving us a reduced rate at the hotel
