New years Run
Mon 2nd Jan 2006
organised by Central Scotland

Car Count : 21

[ show event report ]

Run organisers...John Sim & Douglas.

Directions to Newhouse Hotel...
Off Junction 6 on the M8, head for Lanark on the A73 and it's at the
next roundabout (1/2 mile at the most).

Weather permitting...Blow away those cobwebs, get out and about with the hood down, for a nice bracing drive on the second day of the new year. Join us as we twist and wind our way through the quiet and traffic free roads to Biggar and Lanark, where the run will end. Lunch at the New Lanark Mill Hotel and after lunch enjoy a stroll to the 'Falls of Clyde' or a look round the visitor centre shop.

Warning...some parts of the roads we will be travelling on have a less than smooth road surface and the odd pothole. On the day a reminder will be given through the two way radios and run notes as to the locations. It is also fair to say that your car will not be as clean at the end of the run as it might of been when you started.

Yeah, thanks guys for the run though I don't know if North Lanarkshire's roads are any better than East Lothian's. And Douglas you were right about expecting the car to get filthy.

Yes a bit rough in parts. Fast in others though, enjoyed it. How was lunch?
