4 cars met up at Dundee in bright sunshine, and took the wibbly wobbly way to Coupar Angus to meet up with another 2 cars.

Larry then led everyone on a circular route up through Alyth and around the south side of the Loch of Lintrathen for a coffee and scone stop at Peel Farm where we had to negotiate around some large, and very free range, chickens in the car park.

It was still sunny when we drove across to the A93, however it was not long before the snow started falling and most cars put their roofs up. Larry and I persevered but even we had to stop half way over the Moulin Moor road due to rather large hailstones.

A quick convenience stop in Pitlochry then we were on our way again, over the Garry Bridge – disappointingly we couldn’t persuade anyone to partake in The Highland Fling bungee underneath.

There were some great views of Loch Tummel, before a small detour up Glen Errochty with Torr Dubh on the right going up and Beinn A’Chuallaich on the right on the way back down. Then along the north shore of Loch Rannoch to Rannoch Station where we were greeted by the sight of four young deer.

We caused a bit of a stir in the tea room however soon organised a couple of tables and enough chairs for all 11 of us. Peter ordered first and snagged the last bowl of soup, much to the dismay of one, and the amusement of everyone else.

Fully fed and watered, it was time to get back on the road, with a couple of cars brave enough to go topless, and we were soon greeted by the sun coming out again.

We drove back along the south shore of Loch Rannoch, across to Kenmore, then over a superb road through Glen Quaich and onto Dunkeld where we said goodbye to Davie & Lesley.

The remainder journeyed on past Loch of the Lowes and onwards to home. A great run with typical Scottish weather of four seasons in one day.
