Summer Tech Day
Sat 9th Jul 2005
organised by Central Scotland

Car Count : 11
[ show pre-run info ]

A while back some of the members asked for a summer tech day, not quite as strange a request as I first thought, thinking along the lines that people might rather be out enjoying the car in the summer instead of doing techie things, however with Richard and Eileens kind permission it was soon arranged.
Six cars met at Stirling Services which had been left slightly battle scarred from the past weeks events relating to the G8 Summit and where we were enjoying the banter and jokes from the various Police Forces that were using the Granada services as a bus station on their homeward journeys. We soon made our way to Richard and Eileens where we sorted out the order of the day and the tasks to be done.
A few cars were in and out of the garage after getting brakes checked and pads changed, a couple of people had new headlights fitted and some even discovered they had a Limited Slip Differential fitted, which they hadn't known about. Lunch was a very relaxed affair as we sat in the sun enjoying our BBQ, once again Richard and Eileen had done us proud. Back to work for some as we finished off all the little jobs, much hilarity was had when Heather was trying to silence her sqeaky suspension with the aid of Richard bouncing on the front wing.
So another successful Tech Day and really weird because it wasn't cold and wet like our normal February or November Days, perhaps we could make it an annual event. A big thanks once again to Richard and Eileen for their hospitality and thanks also to those members who so kindly were able to help others.

Firstly thanks to Richard and Eileen for the excellent hospitality, great day, great weather and great company.

Had a good run back to Glasgow too following Douglas and for at least part of the way Phil down the A81.

Maybe wasn't so smart to visit the hairdresser on the way through this morning.

Scalp's fine but my forehead and nose are a bit pink

Thanks to Eileen for the hospitality and Richard for taking the P*** (only joking).  Had a good run back until I got to the Erskine bridge, bit of a queue as the police were handcuffing and arresting a driver of a car. !!!!!!

Tom, can I make you an offer you can't refuse for your new lights (to match our nice new rear ones!) Magic day, excellent company, next time I'll see if I can squeeze Nigel into a pair of overalls. No doubt Tracy or Heather will lend him a pair of those nice blue gloves, so his nails don't get dirty!

Thanks to Richard and Eileen, please can we come again?!
