MK3.75 Scissor Jack & handle Wanted

Postby special k » Tue Nov 06, 2018 2:12 pm

Have just traded in my MK3 for a newer model. In the previous MK3 I had a scissor jack that neatly fitted in behind a small stow compartment on the right hand side of the boot. In the newer 3.75 there is no jack however there is a space made for one ?

Any chance that someone has one for sale or perhaps can advise where I can get one (that fits in this stowage cupboard)

I have a trolley jack at home but sure as fate I would need this whilst out & about

Mazda stopped supplying then around 2011 or so.

If you think about it, what would you do with the jack as there is no spare tyre in the car. and if find a space saver that fits, have you got one yet?

Where would you put a full size punctured wheel and tyre?

Three easy ways to get one.

Order from Mazda and that will be very expensive.

Go to a scrap yard they will have plenty of them for say £10.

Some people on ebay think they are worth say £30.

The next job you have is to work out exactly the size of the jack you need to fit in the space provided, the actual saddle that fits on the sill is pretty standard but again you have to check that. I would talk to someone with an 08 plate or older car and ask them to let you measure the jack.

I would go to an autojumble or scrap yard and get one after checking exactly what you need

Eddie

Thanks for your words of Wisdom. I never needed mine before & understand what you are saying. I thought I would get one if only for peace of mind. I also thought that I would try & get one from the members on here so at least I had a chance of finding one that fits

Thanks again Eddie

Steven,
I bought one a few years back and it came in handy when I had a puncture near Applecross at easter (do you remember?)
Fits perfectly in rear boot well.
I have checked and the one I bought is on sale on Amazon - Brookstone BR330650 Touring Scissor Jack at £14.99
Cheers,
Drew

Drew

I do indeed remember. Can I ask if it fits in the cubby hole on the right hand side.

Thanks again for your help & advice

Steven,
It fits in the cubby hole just like the OEM part.
