New Mk 3

Postby Paulgjohnston » Wed Feb 10, 2016 8:20 pm

Just got myself a 57 plate Mk3 with 28,000 on the clock.

Bought from tiny garage in Northampton that's been there since 1920 and transported to sunny Ayrshire last Saturday.

Car looks in great condition, just got a new MOT on it as well.

So, when I get the money.... looking for help re a few things.

One of the plastic roll bar hoop covers is cracked, any suggestions ? Is this a good price? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262135379462? ... EBIDX%3AIT

Anyone recommend a good garage in Killie/Ayrshire for a service?

Is it worth getting it undersealed and again any recommendations in the Ayrshire/Glasgow area?

Looking for leather seats as it has cloth ones, nice and clean that they are though....

Any other advice/thoughts would be gratefully received!

If you are a guy that changes your car when you feel like a change do not waste time on underseal, only do it if you intend to keep the car some years.

Do not do a £100 spray over rust with black stuff, the rust has to be netralised first.

These guys get good reports and have done Mk3's.

Your car sounds great! It must have been 'one careful lady owner'. I look forward to seeing and hearing more about it.

For 4 wheel geo set up try Kenneth Brown Motorsport, Hillington, just off the M8
