Heads up!

Halfords 200 piece professional socket set down to £135 from £300.

Another 10% off from 12-2 today so brings it down to £121.50.

Lifetime warranty as well!

They get a good name for advanced home mechanics and pro's starting off in the trade.

As you say if it breaks they replace the part!

The warranty doesn't apply to the ratchet I believe.

I have two halfords professional sets, always been very happy with the quality / cost.

It does if the handle breaks but as you say if it is the clicky bit they sell a repair kit.

A time served mechanic is told to crack or finaly tighten a bolt with the tommy or breaker bar and only to loosen and tighten to a resonable degree with a ratchet.

Also not to hammer the end of a screwdriver but I have lots of screwdrivers like that.

I've heard reports of variable success with replacement ratchets when they have broken. Seems to be very staff dependant!

I had both my 3/8 and 1/4 drive ratchets replaced at 2 different halfords in Aberdeen, no quibble.

The 1/4 wouldn't move either way, suspected water ingress, I was in and out in 5 minutes with a new ratchet. The 3/8 had an intermittent fault where the direction switcher would stick. The guy said he'd fit a repair kit. Opened up then just went and got me a new ratchet.

Can't fault the service!
