Leaking mk3 roof

Postby Macscorcher » Sun Dec 06, 2015 12:22 am

Hello all !

Wondering if anyone has any previous experience of this ? Like I'm sure most of you we had some pretty serious rainfall today. I've never had any leaks in my mk3 before until today but now water is dripping from the trim at the corners of the roof ? Do I need to replace a seal or adjust something ?

Tried googling it but mostly seemed to be mk1 or mk2 advice that came up ?

Will try & upload some pics tomorrow if I can

Any help much appreciated !

Bob

It may be simply (?) the seals have shrunk a bit and may respond to a bit of "re-hydration" with silicon spray, sprayed onto a lint free cloth and rubbed into the seals...like it's Mk2 cousins.
A few years back, I went one further with my Mk1, dug out my Dad's old medical case, got his ancient glass & chrome syringe out, and injected the stuff right into the seals.
Worked a treat.
No idea about adjusting your hood, but hopefully someone will be along!
There is always an imbecile you never bargained for. Usually in a Tescon carpark with a dented Zafira minus hubcaps
