Postby callum22 » Fri Nov 06, 2015 8:54 pm

Hi guys had an issue for a couple weeks now as its got into winter and the moisture has been bad recently, i've got condensation on the inside of the boot lid and my rear lights fog up also, i have a hard top on the car and have done so for 2 years,

the boot is completely dry even under carpets, i have dried out the boot previously last week but still im getting moisture

maby boot seal ??

do rear lights have seals around them ??

help much appreciated

update 19/11

Hi Callum,

I have the same issue, as far as i can see there are no broken seals or any obvious ways for water to get in.

As a stop gap measure i picked up a car Air Dry car dehumidifier from halfords for £7.50 and it seems to have cut out the condensation completely.

Rear lights have seals that go. Common problem.

There is a gasket on the two number plate lights but as they are horizontal maybe not the problem.

There is no gasket between the body and the rear light clusters on the rear lights.

Mazda parts diagram attached.

If the car is a soft top have you cleared the rear cabin drains.

Once it's sorted, don't store pressurised cans in boot.
They promote condensation...for some scientific reason beyond me.
There is always an imbecile you never bargained for. Usually in a Tescon carpark with a dented Zafira minus hubcaps

Ooh, a lot of people store tyre weld or other brands of tyre repair gloop in there.
