NC indoor car cover

Postby CaptainNorth » Thu Sep 17, 2015 12:56 pm

OE indoor car cover, blue, looks very nice. MX5Parts RRP 160ish, 'Special' price 140ish. Mazda's own online price? (inc VAT) £101.

Hmmm.

MX-5 Parts has lots of things in one place and a very quick turnaround on orders usually which is their biggest advantage, it's always best to comparison shop as they can be quite expensive, their delivery can also be pricey.

Yeah absolutely Ian. I was surprised that Mazda themselves were cheaper given that dealers are generally expensive. Even if MX5parts paid retail, which I assume they don't a 40% profit margin is nowt short of profiteering! I've used them for other stuff like the drop links and they are competitive and like you say it's fast and easy. I think I'll be stitching two old sheets together anyway...:-)

The supermarket trick of lower prices on the price sensitive items but a lot dearer than a small shop on the less common stuff.

Reckon it could be so Eddie. I've emailed and asked them if they can beat Mazda's price and they got straight back saying will speak to the Manager Monday and let me know. So fair play, let's see what they come back with....

So the outcome was MX5 Parts said they'd do a one-off for £100 if I phoned and I see they've now dropped their price online as well.

In the meantime I'd found another Mazda Dealer who did it for a shade under £100 including delivery so bought from them as MX5 Parts would almost certainly have added delivery.

Another Dealer had wanted £200 - huge range of prices!

It's a really good cover and made to fit the NC1.

Cheers
