Best £3 i've ever spent on a car!

After searching long and hard, speaking to some folk breaking MK1s, etc. I got wind of the fact that Sports Car Breakers in Newbridge had a couple of 5s in stock.

They actually have 2 mk2s and only 1 mk1.

I head out yesterday to see if I could finally lay my hands on some of the wee fiddly bits of trim my Eunos was missing.

When I saw there was only the 1 Mk1 I didn't feel too confident but how wrong could I be!

As I walked closer I could see that the wee rubber trim pieces that sit in front of the lights were still there and intact - how chuffed!!

I also liberated it and a 323F nearby of various fasteners (323 wheelarch liners are similar to MX5 fasteners) which allowed me to finally fit the bonnet edge trim I have had sitting for some time.

I've never been so chuffed by such a little thing on a car but it's the wee bits that make all the difference.

I also sourced a slam panel cover but none of the holes appear to line up with suitable fixing points? Does anyone know if the UK and Jap slam panels differ or if maybe 1.6v1.8 differ?

I also fitted a replacement boot carpet as my old one had most of the popper fasteners missing on the battery cover and a previous owner had removed the wood and insulation from below it.

Whilst having a dig around in the boot, I found this sitting behind the spare wheel, up a recess towards the hood - can anyone tell me where it belongs? It has a rubberised coating and an insulated underside:

Always been that way at SCB. The better stuff is removed, but all the rest is removed by you.
