Potential Discount on Dinitrol Undersealing - Group Buy

Postby 71NotOut » Thu Aug 27, 2015 9:36 am

Further to this thread, and the timely post by Mark - http://www.mx5scotland.co.uk/board/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=10890

I have been chatting with Samantha Hill who works with Mark at Preserve & Protect in Johnstone.

She has offered a potential group buy discount of 15% on their basic underseal treatment if I can drum up 10 people who are willing to put down a 25% deposit.

This brings the cost down from £330 to £280.

The basic treatment is as follows (quoted from chat with Samantha):

"The basic underseal includes cleaning of the underside of the car, treatment of all visible rust using dinitrol rust convertor, treating of the chassis rails, sills, wishbones , front chassis legs with dinitrol cavity wax. Then covering the underside with dinitrol underbody wax . The process takes around 3 days.

If we need to remove all 4 arch liners and treat these areas that's another £75. We also do a full cavity inspection using a endoscope combined with before and after pics burned to disc that's another £75."

So for a full underseal, including behind arch liners, I think you'd be looking at £355 which doesn't sound too bad to me.

Having done this myself on my old Mk2.5, it's not a job I would care to repeat and I want to get my Eunos protected but thought maybe if we get enough bodies interested we could save a bit of cash.

Their website is http://www.preserveprotect.co.uk if you want to have a look.

I am happy to coordinate this, and will open it up to a wider audience (Scottish based MX5 Facebook groups, etc.) if we don't get enough interest from here alone.

So, if you would like to take part in this group buy, could you please add your name to the list:

Please note, this offer is in no way linked with either the MX5-OC or MX5 Scotland.

I am going to open this up to a couple of Scottish based MX5 Facebook groups to try and drum up the numbers.

Might even push it further afield (was thinking Pistonheads) but obviously prices may differ for different cars (prices quoted are MX5 specific).

Cheers.

Sorry bud, I tried on here, and on Pistonheads and never got more than a sniff!

I ended up going on my own to get my Eunos done and really chuffed with the results.

Well worth it IMO, money well spent for peace of mind.

I have just bought a 2.5 and would be interested in this. Is it still an option?

Th main option appears to be to pay the normal price the company charges.

You will never get 10 people to do that in a short period, more like 6 per year at most.

Yep, just for the record, this Group Buy discount is dead.

I would, however recommend anyone to go to Preserve and Protect to get their car undersealed - money well spent IMO.

I called them literally only about 2-3 weeks ago ref my mk1 after getting coated in crap doing as good a job as I could myself then seeing someone on here mention them. Spent a good while chatting away and ended up just talking about cars in general, safe to say I will be getting my wee baby whisked over to them at the end of summer 2016 for some TLC.

Loving the car and for the price and service these guys are offering I can only see it as money well spent!

Used Preserve & Protect in August this year and confirm they offer a first class service. Mark knows his 5's and can offer great advice about sourcing parts too.
