MX5 hillclimber wannabe

Postby Digital » Sun Aug 10, 2014 4:39 pm

Hi all, been lurking here for a while and just registered. I've only recently bought my first MX5, a 2004 Euphonic, which I'm planning on using for hillclimbs and sprints next year. At the moment it's just a standard road car (albeit a rather nice one) so I'll be looking to fit a few new shiny go-faster parts over the winter, I'm sure I'll find plenty of useful information on here :)

Yep, you were setting a trend all those years ago :)

If there had been a few more MX5s about when I took up the sport I might have got it right first time

Hi Digital ive recently bought a MK1 Eunos which im currently working on for hillclimbing/sprinting next year also.

The Eunos Ecosse web site is very good for info as is Richy who's worth contacting, numbers on the web site.

It seems an ever growing class and a great idea to get people on the hills for a reasonable amount of money.

Cheers Ferg.

Yep :)

The Exige has been called into service for the Sprint championship this year, the Caterham will be up for sale shortly. I fancied an MX5 to join the ever growing numbers in A9, has been a really closely fought class this year! Also means I can do Forrestburn and Doune again as I was too scared to take the Lotus up a hillclimb

Hey Ferg, good to hear of another convert :)

Richy has already been giving me plenty of advice, just need to see if he might help me out with my budget by buying my Caterham!

Look forward to seeing you out next year :D

There's a hillclimb event at Forrestburn this weekend, unfortunately I'm going to miss it but worthwhile popping along for a visit, should be a full complement of MX5s competing.
