Hello (and can anyone recommend mats!)

Postby Feebs » Tue Jul 22, 2014 10:46 pm

I have a BRG MK1 fast approaching its 18th year. Only had it for a year and a half, but I've never had so much enjoyment from driving a car. I read a comment on here in another thread about the lack of power steering, but I love that. Does that make me weird?! I find it quite satisfying to get it in and out of a tight space before you twang a ligament.

Since getting it I've replaced the badly rusted front wings (well, not me personally but a bloke with those skills), but it's not needed much done, and my first MOT wasn't scary either. I tried to post a pic but the file was too big. Will try another tomorrow.

Main reason I joined was for a recommendation for a supplier of floor mats. I would like mats where the heel pad is completely stitched but the online seller descriptions that I've found don't confirm that. Took a wonder down to Halford's in the hope that I could find a set but even their cheapo cut-to-size mats wouldn't fit. Anyone suggest a reputable seller please?

Cheers.

A BRG Mk1 is an excellent choice! Great to hear how much you're enjoying it.

Have you had a look at the MX5parts.co.uk website? They sell genuine Mazda mats (which look great but have no heel protection and in my experience wear quite quickly) but also do their own line of mats which are really decent quality.

Good luck!

Brad.

Thanks guys. I take it that site is the most popular, so I'll get a proper look on a decent sized screen tonight. See if there's anything else I need too.

Good shout guys, thank you.
Shiny new mats ordered, AND they've got a stitched in heel part #FTW!
Took another photo today of my car without filters but it still says it's exceeding the size limit. I guess you can image what it looks like. P reg, so give me a toot if you see me out and about.

Thanks again guys :)
