Body Repairs

Postby mx5sport » Sat Jul 31, 2004 10:15 pm

We are looking to get a small amount of damage repaired on our bumper - does anyone know any garages that do a good job for a good price in the Aberdeen area? Had a quote from Arnold Clark which seemed excessive for what needs done (surprisingly).

Cheers

If it's minor scuffing/scratches try Chipsaway. Log on their website to find out your local franchise.
I had some minor damage repaired. Very good and Very happy :D :D :D

If Chips Away can't do it I know a man who can at Balmedie.
The guy resprayed my 91H and does a lot of work for local garages.

Cove Garage is best local recommended I know. They repair and respray for Land Rover. I think I got a nose job + wing mirrors + windscreen header for about 280 .. which is about what you end up paying ... 100/panel is a rough guide which is no doubt out of date.. so nose only job could be 150..

But first try Chips away .. must get them on to my rolling cone nose damage (honest .. I was not even in car but came back to a cone rolled down the hill driven by wind) .. the scumbag boot marks too - looks like a football boot glanced over the boot.

Malcolm, Paul,
Cove is good but can be a bit pricey - the guy who does my servcing is their senior mechanic. The guy at Balmedie is very cheap but also very good. He is also very experienced with Mazdas. Let me know if you need his number.

Stoney, I live down the road from Balmedie (ellon), and drive through by the place nearly every day.Would love to know more about this guy. Bodywork, plus mechanics????. Would be a godsend to get a 5 friendly mechanic locally.

mail me at home please, m.reed@tesco.net.

Thanks in advance

Mike,
I will send you a message via the private message system as I am not sure my bodywork guy would want his details publicised on the forum.
If anyone else wants details please let me know.

Mark
