Getting married next year! The alternative to leaving it in the garage until next spring is to sell it or break it and I can't do that. I bought it for track days so at least I can still do that.

Well, a bit of a poor turnout for the mx5s on this one - but an excellent day, a broad mix of cars, mostly dry conditions, and the little mazda behaved itself beautifully.

Looks like a half decent day there surprisingly, we ended up going through to Glasgow on Saturday and it was proper wet!

Flipping cold but still roof down all day ! With the heater on full belt, it was warmer in the car than standing round in the pits - probably why I did so many laps . I brimmed the tank at south queensferry on the way there and still only just made it home on fumes having done a staggering 140 miles ! Works out at around 15mpg I reckon

Who can put a price on fun though?
How does the red one compare to the blue one on track? - It's a 1.6 as well isn't it?

Got the next dates in my diary now so will hopefully get out next time round!
Getting mine back from its surgery today, hope the snow goes soon!

The red car handled beautifully, the roll bar, bucket seat and harness worked very well together making it much easier to concentrate on driving the car rather than bracing to stop myself sliding about in the corners. I upgraded the brakes to 1.8 spec, fitted braided lines and fancy blue fluid, the results were very good, no fade and much improved stopping power. The new Torsen diff made cornering much more controlled and ultimately quicker.

I do think the blue car was a better engine though, the short nose crank just seemed to be a bit more eager than the long nose engine in the red car (both 1.6s), although I did have the jrcai on the blue car - maybe it had a greater effect than I thought.

Next TrackScotland is not until wed 15th may but knockhill have a couple of their own track evenings on mon 1st and thu 25th April (only £60 in advance) so I may be tempted to sign up for them if the car fund has any pennies in it.
