Electric Aerial

Postby Tom » Mon Dec 26, 2005 9:26 pm

Packed in today. Goes up, but not down without assistance to get it started. I presume the stopper at the bottom of the nylon guide has broken/worn off. Please someone correct me if I'm on the wrong wavelength!
Ordered a new mast and going to have a go at fitting it, anything I need to be careful/watchout for? (springs and the like, don't want to go searching down the street for lost parts)
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers, Tom.

No springs as I remember. Hell, if I could do it...

Cheers for that, Guys :D
Feeling a bit more confident now

Gonna just play CD's until the postman comes, in case I forget to lower the aerial and some lout decides to see how far it'll bend.

I supposed you've greased the mast and sent it up and down a few times? (ooer missus )

Yeah, my mast is always well greased

Its making a different sound when its fully extended :? , like the motor is running on empty before it stops. Then if I push it in a little  it'll go back down.
My first thought was it was just stuck at the top, but there was no stickyness at all

Cheers Graeme,
Tom.

From the description you're giving, I'd say your diagnosis is spot on.
