FIRST MX5SCOTLAND trackday for 5 years (Now Cancelled)

Postby Richardn » Wed Feb 16, 2011 9:27 am

Well we did it 5 years ago, now we are trying again

If no-one signs up quickly it won't happen, as Knockhill will need a deposit

Count me in ! I've done loads of track days but there is something very special about an mx5 exclusive day - let's see some names on that list.

I'd be interested but am not the fastest driver in the world. Are us 'not quite so budding racers' still welcome?

Also, what do I need to know about insurance? Assuming my standard policy doesn't cover track events.

Thanks! :D

It might be a good idea to put this in the general forum as I'm not sure everybody looks in the Motorsport sub-forum.
I'm very excited about this, but concerned that without broadcasting it more we won't get the required numbers.

Once we have the numbers for this to go ahead then I shall be collecting deposits. No point in collecting deposits just now in case, as is looking very likely, we don't get the minimum numbers. As I have said before, plenty of interest but not many putting names forward. It's either apathy or credit crunch. 10 days to go before we decide if this goes ahead or not.

I would love to do this, but no way will I have the funds to do so. Just about to move home and lots of other things needing money/attention, it such as shame as I think this would be a great for a first time track day.

It's probably the price that's putting people off as it's quite expensive for a 2 hour session.

How about advertising elsewhere on agreement with the mods ... MX5Nutz, Scottish Fivers ....

Yes, this really needs pushed out as it would be a tragedy if it didn't happen. I posted a thread on Pistonheads and Nutz a while back, but could do with a refresher. I remember the last Mx5 tracknight being sold out!

Shelved?
March 12th is long past.
Perhaps the prospect of insurance, fees, and gas = £200/250-ish event is a bit harsh for folk just now. :(

I wouldnt bother with insurance for a 2 hour session and a track shared with careful minded enthusiasts.

I would suggest that's a reasonable calculated risk with a relatively disposable 2nd car/dedicated track dog but if I'd just treated myself to a branny Nk3.5 I'd stick to spectating!
I take your point fully though.
