Back to the Future...Meet the MK-3ers

Postby DouglasH » Wed Oct 19, 2005 9:01 pm

Been sort of planning this Impromptu Run for a few weeks now, but couldn't announce date until we knew for sure when the new cars would be delivered, that's why its the 30th.

As previously mentioned on Events page its an Impromptu Run with the emphasis on impromptu, it will be a laid back affair and hopefully a bit of fun too   . Lunch will be at the 'Famous Grouse Experience' in Crieff :D .
Just to make it more fun and since its the eve of halloween, no not asking you to dress up (you can do if you like 8) ) but; if the lower echelons, ie Mk1/2/2.5 attendees would like to adorn their non MK-3 car with something(s) that makes the Mk-3 different, perhaps something that is missing or would make it better...good or bad, you've read all the pre launch comments now copy it, the more the merrier, the funnier the better. We will do this at lunch time while the
two judges (guess who) are still inside the restaurant.
We have both Mino & Gavin's blessings for this so don't worry about offending the snobs  . Prizes for funniest cars ie most cupholders, etc, know where I'm coming from :!:

Well, I would normally agree with you but the RX-8 owners enjoyed my company so much last time  I got a personal invitation to join them. Because they have double the BHP of my engine (and double the fuel consuption) they very kindly wait for me to catch up if I drop behind. :D

They also need all the support they can get because they don't have many active members. :?

I'll still see you one way or another. :P

Was thinking about meeting up with the RX8 OC along with Mike and his dad, so you won't be the only 5 Phil!

We did consider joining up with the RX-8 Club for this event but for two reasons:-
1. Their run is 180 miles or so, plus the 80-120 miles our members would have to travel to and from start point. (even more for you Phil) So for an extra / Impromptu run its a considerable expense to consider, ok for RX-8 club ..they don't get out much

2. Mino & Gavin will still be getting used to their cars and it would not be fair to them, for various reasons.

MichaelG..of course you will still be accepted at events, good luck with the new car.

One good thing to consider when you join the RX-8 club for a run is your petrol bill is half theirs. :D
