Diatance of Fuel Tank from Firewall

Postby stevieg » Wed Oct 12, 2005 8:25 pm

Anyone know how far away the fuel tank is from the firewall behind the passenger seat in a MK1, I want to drill 4 holes to mount an active sub behind the seat but dont want petrol gushing all over the place.

Fitment like this but the sub on the other side :

About 80mm from memory to the body shell (and this is through the removable panel that is about 0.6mm thick and razor sharp at the edges). The petrol tank must be 15mm beyond the body.. This is all at the top 150mm. Below this line there is a double skinned section some 80mm thick and then you are into a big void called under the car.. so basically you would need serious self tapers.. but note the wiring loom is secured to the ridge about 50mm back under the removable cover.. still no issue.

I have a nice little digital photo here is you PM me.. never did work out how to load them up :? :( !!
