Badges

Postby Malc » Tue Feb 09, 2010 11:43 pm

I notice that our new co-ordinator has a badge.

I think all members of OC should have name badges - so that new members can get to know people much quicker. :D

This is such an important issue - it should maybe be passed to the National Executive.

How do we get this on to the agenda for their next AGM?

That because you've recruited so many new ones you don't know who they all are John?

Seriously though I was at a fairly large event one time (not MX-5 OC) where people had sticky printer labels with Forum Name and Real Name, worth a shot if it's a real problem......

Was at a function with name badges.

I was confussed as lots of people I did not know knew my name.

It was only when I took the badge off at the end of the function that I clicked!!!

I think we have hit the buffers on the badges at present.. but if NSS/E/N get together and get enough numbers, we could maybe get someone to make them.
I'm sure there's a corporate rule on using the logo.. mx-5 OC being a limited company and all that.. but as my company knows, I don't care much for answers that begin with "no"... so game on..

Ian - do you want to see if your members want a badge and I will do the same, get numbers by end of feb, say, and then I can do some digging.

Drumtochty, nice to hear from you again.

On the subject of which ...

How about a windscreen badge for the NS areas, so we can flash each other when we see someone approaching?

With the bumper stickers we've already passed before we spot them in our rear view mirror!
Cheers

:offtopic3: You didn't even come to our planning meeting so - please don't hijack my thread.
You're just being ridiculous by the way.

Yep. They were an EXCELLENT idea. Wonder who thought of them/made them? (though I got a lot of stick for my planning/organisational skills IAN!! )

Once I'd got the design set up it took about an hour to enter all the names and print them off. Well worth the effort.

1. Apologies if you reckon I hijacked, Malc; thought my post was in keeping with a thread about badges being created for area members to get to know each other better.

2. Ridiculous? Not world-shattering, perhaps, but I've lost count of the number of oncoming 5's I've passed wondering if the driver's a member. Seeing a windscreen badge might make the shier ones try a wave!

3. Missed my first planning meeting in over 4 years! And I sent my apologies ... and offered to organise a BBQ.

4. Like the name badge idea, particularly the idea of just printing out a set of sticky labels ... seems a sensible, low cost solution. The OC may sanction the use of the official logo, but it's no biggie if we can't use it.
Cheers

I just put a pikkie of my cars on the ones I did!! I'm happy to pass on the design/technology with user tips if required. You'll have to wait till April though.

Maybe the motto for NSS should be;

MX-5 Owners Club - North Scotland South - Know where we're going, just don't know who we are.....

hmm interesting way this thread has turned. :)

I'd have thought the badges for cars would have gone in the car sticker forum thread myself or a new topic.. however, let's not be picky..and let's not keep quoting each other, unless it's funny.. (so keep going, I say !) LOL
Hi Angie !

Colin, once I find out which way my head is pointing (up or down) I will take you up on the BBQ offer.. and you did kindly offer and it is appreciated.. It wasn't mentioned at the meeting due to time constraints.. and the fact I forgot about it... Lively meeting.
