Vote "Mino" in the AGM!!

Postby graeme » Thu Sep 08, 2005 10:11 pm

I am writing to ask you to use your proxy vote in this year's AGM to vote for our own Central Scotland Joint Area Co-ordinator, Mino, in his quest to become Area Co-Ordinator Liason. This is the job which helps get a link between the National Committee and the ACs and is vital to the smooth running of the club. It's very rare that someone from this end of the UK wants to stand for (let alone gets onto) the national committee and I think we should all send our papers away (when we get them that is) to get Mino elected.

Some of us (ie me) are going to the AGM to vote in person (OK I was tired last night and got talked into it before I realised what I was doing ). return flights ?35 if you're interested

Totally agree with Graeme, last year the number of votes cast was very, very low due to the apathy of most members. :? Use your vote and we can get a Scottish member on the Committee.

If you are not going to the A.G.M. (unlike Graeme :D ) you can still vote using the 'Proxy' system.

Hi Folks,

Club members may read my 'manifesto' on the Club Forum at the following link:

http://www.mx5ocforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=24186

I would welcome and feedback, good or bad, that any members (and potential members) have about our Club and how it benefits them.

I would also ask for input on the issues that 'Central Scotland' might wish Douglas and I to raise, either at the AGM (12th Nov) or at the Area Coordinators Meeting (13th Nov).

The voting papers are scheduled to be with you along with the October edition of STHT.

Please remember to use your proxy vote if you cannot attend the AGM

In the meantime - any intimations of support are very gratefully accepted

We do need a voice out there to be heard on the Committee. I heard a lot of crap and feeble excuses for holding the AGM outwith the National at the National this year and frankly we need to use our ACs more and also get Mino elected. To me the sensible time to have the AGM would be during the National about Midday. At least there is more chance of getting people to attend rather than at the end of the National when most people have gone home or outwith this when the nights are drawing in and no one is going to travel unless they live within an hour or so of the venue. Anyway rant out of the way. Use your vote sensibly. :x

The sad fact is that AGMs are dull and no matter when they are held, no one will go.

Can someone confirm whether I need to actually nominate an individual as my proxy? If so, I need the name and address of someone who is going?

Kev and anyone else wishing to use their proxy vote...
Yes you do need to nominate someone.
I will be attending the AGM along with Mino and Graeme Babbs, you can appoint me as your proxy if you so wish, (I am not standing for election to any Committee posts) I'm sure Graeme wont mind either, or nominate Graeme as an alternative to me, (or failing him/her). Most of you will have my address but to those who don't please pm or email me.
If your not sure of any of the candidates and want any advice please don't hesitate to ask, the most important thing is to use your vote.

I'm happy to endorse what Douglas says there. I'm not standing for any committee positions either.

Just another reminder to use your proxy vote.

Sorry to harp on about it but the response has been poor so far, all it takes is a quick pm for my or Graemes address, pop the form in an envelope to the freepost address to arrive by Wednesday 9th November.

You might not think so but your proxy vote could make a difference in the way the Club is run in the future.

To me, the only real position worth voting for (other candidates will get in by default) is the position of Chairperson.

Who do you think would make the better candidate?
